Pojected Based Learning -Black Headed Python

   
My Creature is a
Black Headed Python Snake
Some things I needed to consider about my creature: The black headed snake
lives in the desert and loves to play in the warm sand.  
It rolls around in it. I also  found out that they can grow up to 5 to 10 feet long. They like to climb poles.
My enclosure has these special features for my pet:
Climbing polle and a perch on it so the snake can shed its skin on it and wrap its tail around.
Log tunnel so it can climb in and out of.
The thing that I had to do most was a sand hill because it liked sand.
The ground was also made out of sand.
What I am pleased about:
The perch on the climbing pole was tricky because when I was drilling the hole for it to slide on the drill kept slipping but I finally got it in the end and it turned out good.
Also the sand hill because the sand kept falling out the cracks in the wall but I put a lot of sellotape there and the sand stayed in.

What I would like to improve:
The walls because they weren't that strong and I would probably make it bigger if I had more hardboard. Also I would put glad wrap over the top so then there’s a roof but I can still see in. I would put food in there and I would try to make a fake black headed python in there.

Camp Blog 2016

Camp Omutua
The first step is packing my bag. This is the worst thing about camp because it takes so long.
The best thing about camp was leaving for school for 3 days! And also was arriving at Camp Omatua.
The best part about Camp Omatua was making our drive in movie cars. I loved my car and I liked other people's designs.
The worst part was unpacking my bag and having to see what was washing or not when I got home.

Things we did at camp

At Camp our first task were technology challenges.  The best challenge that I liked was making something like a fishing rod to get a phone that was over the other side of a ravine.

Calendar art

CALENDAR
ART!


THIS IS m MY CALENDAR ART FOR 2015.  This year I designed aonkey to use for foot print art. This took me 2 weeks and I first planned it out on a piece of paper.   I secondly  drew two trees and coloured them in, then cut it out and glued it to the paper.  This is a monkey with his son. The challenging  part of this was colouring in the trees because my hands got really sore and also when my teacher was painting my foot it was really ticklish and it was hard not to laugh. I had trouble doing the background because it was hard not to go over the black line otherwise I had to try again.

Lego should be used for learning

WALT persuade other students to agree with our opinion.  This the purpose for my writing.
Success Criteria:
  1. I plan for a writing task
  2. I write a variety of sentence lengths with different persuasive language sentence starters
  3. Give reasons with detail - use specific words
  4. I write most topic and high frequency words correctly.
  5. I use capital letters,fullstops, question marks and exclamation marks -.

Lego should be used for learning


I strongly believe that Lego should be used for learning.


My first reason is that for maths, if you are learning about area you can build something with the lego to learn area. also when you go to high school you can learn how to build things using lego so when you are a dad you can build things like a playhouse for your kids.  I also believe you can use 2X2 bricks for learning area.  


You can also use studs for counters, you can use cogs and make contraptions to make you smarter,  you can make lego trains that move as well as carriages.  In the carriages you can put biscuits, milo, milk, sugar and a cup, then you press a button and the train will come and deliver it to you so then you can make a milo with biscuits to eat.


Lego is also good for helping you with your reading because when you get a new set of lego you need to read the instructions.  Lego gives you goals for reading and building.   Also, you can make a goal for  yourself, so it could be like I'm going to try and get all the lego figures so I could then collect all the people.      

I therefore believe that lego should be used in school.

Room 12 Assembly Animal Band

Walt perform to an audiience
Success Criteria:

  • speak together as a group

On Friday 4th of September 2015 we had our animal band for our assembly item. The animals were the Donkey, the Rooster, the Cat, the Dog, the Robbers, the Narrators and the actors.  
First we all planned who should be the Roosters and that was me, Jerome and Daniel. 
We also had donkeys who were Ruby L and Henrietta.  There were also the cats who were Sienna, Ruby H, Terenzo and Emma.   
I think the roosters had the best parts because we had the least words and the sentences were easy and small.  When I got on stage I felt funny, I was trying not to laugh, we also got so many compliments on the hair.
